Privacy Policy for Nexpen

Overview
Nexpen is a local-first personal and business finance app. Your financial data is stored on your device and synced through your own iCloud account. We do not collect, transmit, or have access to any of your personal or financial information.
Data You Enter
All data you enter into Nexpen — including transactions, account balances, budgets, debts, income, payroll records, and investments — is stored locally on your device using Apple's CoreData framework. We never see, access, or store this data on any server we control.
iCloud Sync
If you have iCloud enabled, Nexpen uses Apple's CloudKit to sync your data across your devices. This sync occurs between your devices through your personal iCloud account. Apple's iCloud privacy policy governs how Apple handles this data. We have no access to your iCloud data.
Calendar Access
Nexpen may request access to your calendar to create reminders for upcoming bill due dates and debt payoff milestones. The app only writes events to your calendar — it does not read, modify, or share any existing calendar events. Calendar access is optional; the app functions fully without it.
Notifications
Nexpen uses local notifications to remind you of payroll deposit deadlines and employee review dates. These notifications are scheduled on your device and are never sent through an external server. We do not use push notification services.
Face ID and Touch ID
Nexpen offers optional biometric authentication using Face ID or Touch ID to protect access to the app. Biometric data is processed entirely by Apple's operating system. Nexpen never has access to your biometric data.
In-App Purchases
In-app purchases (Nexpen Pro and Nexpen Business) are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store any payment information. Apple's App Store privacy policy governs the purchase transaction.
Backup and Restore (macOS)
The macOS version of Nexpen allows you to export a backup of your data to a file on your Mac. This file is saved locally to a location you choose. We do not have access to these backups.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, share, or transfer your personal information to any third party. We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising networks, or tracking services.
Children's Privacy
Nexpen is not directed at children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
